The Arduino is a small computer that can achieve many different tasks. Just within the starter kit projects we have seen that the Arduino can light up LED's, take and know the temperature of its surroundings, provide different responses through a liquid LED screen, etc. Most projects require code to be uploaded through the Arduino software on the computer. Basically you tell the computer what to do in the code, and if everything is wired correctly the Arduino should perform and complete the task it was set up to do.
Projects
The Arduino taught me that computers need precise coding and wiring in order for the action to work. The amount of times I thought I had done my wiring completely right but actually had messed up the placement of wires or gotten the resistors wrong. The whole thing was very frustrating and a couple of elements in the kit were hard to work with but overall the Arduino projects were interesting to do.
